Beijing, China- Following the media row over allegedly underage gymnasts on the Chinese Olympic team, Web sensation Pedobear has emerged from the dark corners of the internet to take center stage in the unfolding controversy.

The pedophilic bear has been detained by Beijing Police and charged with an Attempted Lewd Act With a Child after arranging a private meeting with gymnasts He Kexin, Jiang Yuyuan, Yang Yilin during last week's opening ceremonies.

"The girls told me they were 16," said Pedobear from jail. "I have done nothing wrong. I was convinced they met the age of consent according to Chinese law."

According to the International Olympic Committee, Pedobear began an online correspondence with the gymnasts in June, at which time he claims he was misled about their age. "I'm virtual friends with all of the Chinese gymnasts on MySpace, where they are listed as 16 years old. Before making the trip to Beijing, I asked each of them to show me two forms of identification. I even sent them webcams so they could prove their age."

The ursine meme claimed he travelled to Beijing to help the gymnasts with their "homework." The IOC confiscated three McDonald's Happy Meals and a roll of duct tape from Pedobear's car.

When contacted, Pedobear's 14-year-old public relations manager wished to remain anonymous.

I mean, it was painfully obvious that it's a guy. Look at the biceps and the leg muscles. Check out the face. It's a dude. I must admit it was an interesting night. First we ran into "fat penis girl" who was this fat chick with a big inflatable penis. It was her bachelorette party and she was waving at me to go dance with her. Nope. Ain't happening.

Then, my friend tells me he is willing to pay for me to dance with "that" girl over there, the one in the white dress. Well, it wasn't a girl.

I was even kind enough to take a video of her/him/it.

How to pimp your Ubuntu desktop

It's rather easy, actually. While not activated by default, Compiz is available for download in your Applications-->Add/Remove. Simply select "All" and "Show all available applications" just in case and type in "compiz" for the search. Select the 3 components for Compiz show in this screenshot:



Once the 3 components are installed, you can go to System-->Preferences and then select"Advanced Desktop Effects Settings":



You can get really cool desktop effects like the desktop cube, wobbly windows (this makes your windows like jello), water ripple effects and other awesome effects.

You should note, though, that you need some sort of graphics acceleration card with the proper drivers installed for Ubuntu. This option is normally presented to you by clicking on the hardware icon on your toolbar at the top right (next to your name) and enabling your driver for your video card.

Compiz also allows you to install very awesome and advanced with themes via Emerald themer.
